I Hate Asking for Help, but I Need Your Help

For those of you who aren’t in the know, I’ve spent a lot of time feeling less than because I don’t have a degree. It’s been frustrating and it’s been overwhelming for me, mostly because I dislike feeling as though I can’t do something even though I have experience that outweighs someone with a degree.

Well, as I’ve worked on this blog, and learned things I like and want, my goals have shifted a bit, which is why I need your help. I would like to go back to school. I want to go back to school so I can get my degrees and work as a counselor or therapist to underserved communities. Specifically the LGBTQ+, Polyamorous, and Kink communities.

The hardest part of all of this is the fact that when I originally left school, I had managed to receive loans directly from the schools I had left. Those loans total just over $3,000 ($3,168 to be precise). The schools will not release my transcripts until I pay them off. I would love to pay them off as soon as possible so that I can have copies of my transcripts and apply for school and scholarships. I would be seeking my Undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies  from George Mason, and then seeking either a Masters degree or higher from Widener’s Human Sexuality program (which has interdisciplinary programs to achieve licensing). Don’t worry, I would still keep blogging and reviewing.

For my birthday month (July), I have a gofundme set up here. If you can donate, please do. It would mean the world to me. If you aren’t able to, that’s okay, and it would mean a lot if you could share the link around.

I really hate asking for help this way, but I would like to reach my goals, and I believe that as a community, everyone can. Please be my community <3

  1. I’ve donated. I just found your blog and I’m excited to be able to help you out. I live in the DC area as well, and am considering some of your services. Best of luck to you and your dreams!
